The Seven County Senior Federation develops membership benefits that enhance an independent, affordable and dignified lifestyle for seniors.

• Health Care Services
  The Seven County Health Information Center helps seniors and their families obtain quality, affordable health care services through information on Medicare, senior health plan options, living wills and discount health services. • Medical Discounts
  Seven County Senior Federation members can receive discounts on prescription drugs and dental, optometric, and chiropractic care.
  • Prescription Drugs: Participating pharmacies will provide discounts to members who lack prescription coverage. A Seven County membership card is required.
  • Mail Order Prescription Drugs: The Seven County Senior Federation and Greater MN Health Care Coalition offer members a mail-order prescription drug program. You may able to receive substantial discounts on your prescriptions!
  • Chiropractic Care: Participating chiropracters will give members a 15% discount on all non-Medicare reimbursed professional services and goods.
  • Dental Care. Many dentists offer discounts for Senior Federation members. Check with your dental provider for more details.
  • Optometric Program. Participating optometrists offer discounts ranging from 15 - 25% on exams as well as additional discounts on eyeglasses (frames and lenses).
• File of Life
  This unique and potentially life-saving program helps assure appropriate and individualized care in the event of a medical emergency. Your File of Life will contain a list of your current medications and health conditions. The Seven County Senior Federation provides members with a magnetic file and wallet-sized version to assure safe care no matter where they need help.
• Living Wills
  A living will or advance directive allows you to make your health care choices known in advance of an incapacitating illness. Living Wills are free for members and available for $6.00 to non-members.
• Advocacy/Public Policy
  The Seven County Senior Federation is a leader in health care reform, including passage of a living will law, equal rates in nursing homes and $7 million in new funding for home care services. Future work includes protection of the Medicare program and action to pass a state and national health care program. Seven County Senior Federation has been a leader in tax reform, including $53 million in property tax refunds for low-income people, opposition to sales tax on non-prescription drugs, and $14 million in retirement income tax exclusion. Future work includes income security. Millions of dollars have been saved through action on utility rate cases, and $7.00 per month saved on telephone bills of low-income persons with passage of the Telephone Assistance Plan.

  Seven County Members can keep up with local, regional, state, and federal information of interest to seniors, especially in the area of information and referral, health, housing, retirement planning and membership benefits.
• Legal Assistance
  Do you need legal advice or assistance? Seven County members can receive discounts from attorneys participating in our legal referral program.
• Senior Defensive Driving Discount Program
  Members receive a 10% discount on car insurance given after the completion of a defensive driving course.
• Free Income and Property Tax Filing Assistance
  Trained volunteers help members from low to moderate income households file proper tax forms.
• Travel Program
  Special discounts are available to members on many day and extended tour trips.
